Driven By Compassion
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt things deeply, and that has always stayed with me, and is a core part of who I am.
At the ripe age of eight I became a vegetarian out of compassion for animals. Granted that compassion stemmed from The Simpsons episode where Lisa went to the slaughterhouse. But still, compassion nonetheless.
Around that same time, I spent an entire day walking only on my tiptoes, trying to avoid hurting even the smallest of creatures. It was a sweet but admittedly exhausting mission.
That same compassion makes me a proud furmom today. Caring for animals brings me joy and reminds me that love and kindness can make even the smallest lives feel safe and cherished.
Long story short, those moments capture something important about me: I’ve always wanted to give back and find ways to lessen the hurt in this world, even if I didn’t always know exactly how that would look.

Healing Through Creativity
As I got a little older I learned to walk correctly using my whole foot (I had to give those toes a break).
This allowed me to explore the world and learn more about myself, including my love of art. Art has always been my own form of therapy; it gave me ways to process life, explore meaning, and express (extra big) feelings that words sometimes couldn’t capture.
Over time, it became more than just a hobby—it was a way to ground myself, to step back, and to find clarity in moments that felt overwhelming. Creating something with my hands gave me space to release what I was holding inside, and reminded me that even heavy feelings could take shape into something meaningful.
Through drawing and macro photography, I learned to slow down, notice the details, and find something beautiful or meaningful in things that others might dismiss as ordinary or unremarkable. To me, there’s always something worth noticing, something worth exploring, and something to appreciate.

Growing Through Curiosity
Curiosity has also been an ever-present feature in my life.
When I was younger my curiosity led to a countless string of ‘why’ questions, which I still love asking today (both in and out of the therapy space). It also fueled my ongoing love of travel and adventure.
I find such joy in wandering through new cities, tasting local foods, and soaking in different cultures. Whether it’s exploring winding streets in Europe, hiking scenic trails, or getting lost in a museum, travel feels like an extension of my curiosity—it’s another way of slowing down, asking questions, and noticing the small details that bring a place to life.
Every journey, whether across the street or across the world, reminds me there’s always something new to see and appreciate.

My approach to life is very much mirrored in the work I do now as a therapist.
My compassion shows up in the way I hold space for others, my creativity helps me find approaches that fit each person’s unique story, and my curiosity keeps me asking questions and looking deeper.
Just like with my art, I believe therapy is about looking closely, finding what’s meaningful, and uncovering beauty and resilience in places where it might be hard to see at first.
